Pitch a Project or Collaboration

We welcome project pitches from Asian-identifying artists and proposals from organisations interested in partnering with Slanted.

Slanted focuses on small-scale, sustainable, artist-led work.
We take on a limited number of developments and co-productions each year, depending on capacity.

To pitch or propose a partnership, email slantedtheatre@gmail.com with:

• a short project summary (1–2 paragraphs)
• your role and any collaborators
• the scale, timeline, and format you’re imagining
• why Slanted feels like the right home for this idea
• any funding considerations (if relevant)

Recent example: our ongoing Lunar New Year Showcase in partnership with the National Theatre of Parramatta.

Join the Collective (Volunteers & Contributors)

Slanted is a volunteer-run, rotating collective. Contributors join when they have capacity, pause when life becomes full, and return when timing allows.
This structure protects everyone from burnout and keeps Slanted gentle, sustainable, and community-driven.

We hold quarterly meetings where contributors:

• choose which projects they want to take on
• divide tasks across producing, admin, documentation, marketing, and logistics
• match capacity to interest (e.g. someone on holiday might take on more; someone busy can step back)

If you have skills in:

• design
• photography or videography
• copywriting or marketing
• admin or scheduling
• dramaturgy or documentation
• or simply want to learn by doing

You’re welcome to express interest in joining the collective.

Volunteers can contribute to one project a year or several – participation is flexible and always capacity-led.

Who We Work With

We support artists across the Asian diaspora, including South Asian, East Asian, Southeast Asian, West Asian/Middle Eastern, and bi- or multi-racial artists.
Since 2021, Slanted has collaborated with over 190 Asian-identifying artists across Australia.
